Fall Into Reading 2011 Booklist

I was looking at blogs and came across something called the Fall Into Reading 2011.
I love to read and I do every chance I get. It may be reading fun books to my girls, or my Bible. I love to read so many different books; I  thought how in the world am I going to choose. I have looked through all my books that I have, which is a lot.  All I can say is WOW; I have more than I thought.
I will most likely start a new list for our cold winter months, but here is my list for fall.

My daughters Godmother and Godfather and a dear friend to us sent us two books to read.
I have already started on the first one, and will most likely use this book for years to come. This book is that good a true treasure in our home now.

The Essential Catholic Survival Guide

All I can say so far about this book is I love it. Thank you so much Joe and Elizabeth!
I would ask those that are Catholic and those who are not to read this book.

Rome Sweet Home-Our Journey to Catholicism

The next books are more of a Large family Survival Guide.
I have heard such great reviews on these books, and I can't wait to read it.
Large Family Logistics

The Light and The Glory The: 1492-1793 (God's Plan for America)

A book I was given by a Pastor friend.
The Excellent Wife A Biblical Perspective

The Remarkable book by Anna Sofia Botkin and Elizabeth Botkin. I bought this book a few years ago and it's now time to crack it open.

So Much More

The next book will be read as a family in the evenings by Daddy. We have 7 daughters so it is a perfect fit for our family.

The Princess Adelina an Ancient Christian Tale of Beauty & Bravery

Lots of books for the fall season, that my children and I will read for school and fun.

September 11th 2011 Pray and Remember

Please don't forget what today is as you go about your day. Remember to pray for all of those that lost lives on September 11, 2001. Pray for the people that lived through that day able to get to safety. Pray for the children, and loved ones that forgot to kiss mom and dad good bye before school. Pray for the husbands and wives that fought and can no longer say they are sorry to one another.

Remember the soldiers that lost their lives in the wars against terror as you go to church today safe from harm. Remember that God is Love and is with us. Remember to hang your flags high today. Remember to thank a Veteran for his time served; thank him for keeping you safe. Remember our soldiers that died who left loved ones to fight for the freedom and peace you have today. Most of all never forget that Gods plans are perfect he does not make mistakes. Remember not to make God the enemy, and pray for the ones who have lost hope.

God the Father loves you and sent his one and only son Jesus Christ to die just for you. God knows what it is like to watch a loved one die for the sins of the world. You’re not alone today all the angels and saints in Heaven are watching over us. Remember to pray and don't forget that Christ the savior of the world loves you. He loved you before September 11, 2011 and he loves still today.

Blessings, Peace and Love to all of you,
Pamela

A new school year

                                                                      2011-2012 School Year

Ready or not here is comes! A brand new school year!

This year we have 5 big girls in school, with 2 little ones playing at our feet. We are so excited to start a new year of learning together, in a small home full of love.

We don’t start our school year in September like most do around our great Country. We start our school year the second week of October. We will take the month of September and the first week of October to enjoy the beautiful weather and one last family vacation.

We school 4 days a week year round and take off September and the first week of October off. This gives us 895 hrs of work at 5 hrs a day and 179 days of school which is fantastic. We end up still having 13 free floating days for sick days and spare of the moment field trips.

We will be doing many unit studies as a family these are extra fun things that really bring us all together. We use these times to relax and break away from all the normal things like math and spellingJ

September we will be going over the Appalachian Trail as a family. We are off of school the month of September but the girls would like to do something, so this should be a fun family activity.  No grades just all for funJ

We will be reading lots of books listing to great music, watching a DVD or two and cooking lots of foodJ

Other family unit studies for the year will be a study on Ireland, A look at our State history, and life in the Great Depression.

To be continued…..
