My Daybook Week 2:: January 7th 3013

Outside my Window...
I see snow and it is very cold!!
The picture to the left is a picture that could have been from my picture album. We used to have a driveway that looked just like this during the winter!! I could walk back and forth up and down my driveway all day watching the animals move about. Not much fun to plow out but it was peaceful. I wish everyday was calm just like after a winter snowfall. I am not a big winter person but the beauty of it is like nothing else, so clean and  simply breath taking.

I am thinking...
about my week and all the things I want to do while my husband is home! My list goes on forever, I am a list maker it helps me think!

I am thankful...
for my health!! As we are ending our flu's and colds, at least I think we are ending them. I can't help but be so grateful non of us ended up in the hospital this year!! I am hearing so many dreadful things about the flu season that I will be waiting for it to finally end.

In my kitchen...
I am planning a grocery trip for our monthly stock pile, some food for hard times but most won't last till next month. Here's a picture of what we have in my kitchen, these little treats were so easy to make and  you can look here Mess-Free Banana Split Bites for the link. Simple, fast and very yummy!!

I am wearing...
blue sweatpants and a light blue t-shirt with my very warm pink blanket no socks or slippers.

I am creating...
snowflakes with my daughters, and snowman to hang up in our home!

I am going...
to start planing out our birthday activities today since we have 2 parties this week. My sweet husband will be 36 and my daughter Juliana will be 7, what a fun week we have ahead of us.

I am reading...
a blog post over at Time-Warp Wife called Day 1 - Be a Constant Friend and Companion. This is The Ultimate Marriage Vow - 21 Days to a Stronger Marriage  she is doing on her website and so far it looks great!

Now my favorite book for Marriage would be Reforming Marriage , I would ask that all married couples read through this and together! It changed my marriage we both saw things for the first time, things we were doing wrong. We also saw things we were doing the correct way, this was nice to read. We have made it 16 years and we plan on making it 60 more!

I am hoping...
we have a productive week, I just love when we get things done and checked off our list!

I am looking forward...
to taking down our Christmas decorations now. I really don't like it when they are up much past January 6th. I am also looking forward to my ladies fellowship meeting! A time where all the women in my church come together and just talk, share what's on our hearts, and eat lots of goodies!

I am learning...
to hold my tongue more, this is not a easy thing for me to do. With much forgiveness from my husband and lots and lots of prayer I see things getting better for me. I come from a loud family where being quite was never normal. I came from a home where parents didn't respect each other, this landed them in divorce court. Marriage is forever and I plan on making it wonderful for my husband, my children and myself.

I am hearing...
my children all talking around the breakfast table and using a book I got from Christian Liberty Press called  Studying Gods Word level E. I thought it would be nice to do more than just listen to fighting at the breakfast table each morning. Well not every morning but way to often for me, 7 girls that all have something to say can make things intresting.

Around the house...
a lot of laundry and garage sale items! Hoping I can check off the basement on my list today! We also have daughters playing with babies as you can see Madelyn is holding her baby in her ERGO Baby Doll Carrier, she LOVES this holder because it's just like mommies.
You can't see the baby doll but she is in there all snugly warm with her Mommy

I am praying for...
my church family, and my family since so many of us are still fighting colds. I am also praying for peace in my heart, I am not feeling to well knowing that I will have to leave my dear friends at our church in a couple of years. I think we may still come home during seminary school, we do have a home paid for that will just be siting  and waiting for us. I am hoping twice a month and during the summer months we can go back, not sure if that's realistic or not!

One of my favorite things...
cold mornings in front or our little fireplace with my cup of hot lemon water and my laptop.

Plans for the rest of the week...
  • Labeling as many items as we can for our garage sale
  • Picking out college classes for next semester
  • Monthly grocery shopping  trip
  • Celebrate my husbands birthday
  • Celebrate my daughters birthday
  • Attend bible study
  • Have my mother-law over since we were to sick for company earlier this week
  • Worship on the Sabbath
A little look at our day... well it's more of a video, Thomas likes to start his day with floor time.

My Daybook :: August 29, 2012

Outside my window...
I see cloudy skies and no rain which is just not fair.
I have watered our yard more this year than any other year I can remember.
We bought 4 Mum plants 2 are in the ground and we have 2 more left to plant.
I always have bought them in the past, which cost us money each fall.
Since I’m a city girl and farming and gardens were not the norm, I never even knew you could plant them in the ground.
It will be nice to enjoy them each year and not buy new plants each fall.
They start out small as you can see, but I was told they will grow very big by next year.

I am thinking...
about all the contractions I have been not having and how I am making great progress.
I am 2cm, 50% effaced, -1 station and very soft, I could stay this way till next Tuesday but I sure hope not. It would be nice to not feel anything and just have a baby (lol)! I know things won't stay this way too much longer. This is the biggest I have ever been while expecting, but this is also our only boy! Speaking of boys we are still trying to decide on a little boys name I sure hope we have one before he gets here.

I am thankful...
for my husband who has been with me through so much in life. I am also thankful for God's Grace and love, I have grown so close to the Lord in the past few months. He has tought me to lean on him instead of myself which has been some work. It really is amazing how much you can hear the Lord if you can learn to block other things out.
Last, I am thankful this week for 1 week of school done!! It feels so good to say that!!

Learning all the time...
we have 1 week of school done this year and it feels great!! We have done lots of reading, math, history and even 2 science experiments. Our girls love the new curriculum they are using and so do mom and dad. The first day was a little hard trying to figure out how to use everything and juggling 5 kids all egger to learn.
When we start back to school in September we will be adding Music, Art, State-by-State Study, and Along the Alphabet Path, praying it all goes well! Notice we are not in our school uniforms I wonder why not.

From the kitchen...
Lots of Vegetables from the Farmers market, I wish I would have started this months ago.

I am creating...
plans for Music, Art, State-by-State Study, and Along the Alphabet Path. I hope to have everything set up by the middle of September when we need to start.

I am working on...
packing my bags for the hospital since I will be away for 2-3 days.

I am going...
to our first home school outing Thursday I think, all depends on how I feel. We will be going to Mass and then were having a pizza/potluck picnic. It will be so nice to old friends that we have not seen in several months. We have a very large group with close to 83 families so when we get together it is a ton of fun. Last time I looked we had 196 people attending this Thursday and only 36 families signed up!

 I am praying...
For a safe delivery and fast recovery!

I am listening...
to my 2 yr old and 3 yr old playing next to me as I type. We are in our 2nd week of school and things seem to be going great.

Around the house...lots of cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning! I am nesting like a crazy women getting ready for our new little guy. We have the car seat ready and all the baby clothes washed and put away. Hubby and I co-sleep so we did not need to set a crib up yet which is great because we are not adding on to our home till March of next year:)
Oh, and we also will be expecting puppies around the same time I'm due!

One of my favorite things...
at this time of year would be all the fresh vegetables and fruit we are able to grow and buy. I eat almost all raw fruits and veggies now and I feel so great! My husband has also changed the way he eats, and we have always eaten well. Almost all organic, no soda ect... but he took it one notch higher and added lots of trace minerals and raw foods. He has dropped I think it is 15 lbs, and I have not gained any in the last 2 weeks so yes it does matter what you eat.

This week's plans...
  • Doctors appt was Monday
  • School work on Tuesday
  • Maybe a bible study (if we can get away, hard to do with 7 little one's)
  • Mass and picnic with our home school group
  • Lots of rest and last minute packing before the baby is here

A picture to share...

Here I am st 39 weeks and ready to have our baby!

My Daybook::April 5, 2012 {Holy Week}

Outside my Window... after some cooler spring weather, we are finally having a sunny day. Our Tulips and early spring flowers are blooming, and it puts a smile on my face.
I am thankful...
for God! I took Lent off of blogging which was hard but needed, and read my Bible more instead:) I am thankful for the wonderful people in my life. I am also thankful for health, we have all been sick in our home this past Lent. When you have 10 people in a smallish home all throwing up or coughing it can make life very challenging. Praise God we are all better!

I am thinking...
about Holy week and Easter and how well planned I am this year. I feel I am very relaxed and ready for the next 5 days, which will be busy but also fun.

Lot of learning...
well not as much as I would have liked due to colds but that's okay. We have some work ahead of us and catching up to do to make up some lost time. I have so much planned for the rest of the year and I am excited to share it with my girls. We school year round now instead of taking off 3 months, the girls love that they just might finish high school early. Next week we will be starting our State by state scrapbooking and baking class, this is going to be so much fun. It may take 2 years to go through everything but that's fine with us. Thank you Jessica for this wonderful idea!

Living for our Lord each day, and learning  much along the way...
We try our best to live for the Lord each and every day. This Lent has been not as busy as normal, which I must say was an okay thing. We normally do so much that dinner is more like a mini Bible study to our family. We have several activities that we enjoy and learn from that we started and did not finish. Our Jesus tree is half way done and our Noah's boat has windows still closed, but that's life.
We did set out our stations of the cross and as a family we studied and learned more about what Christ went through for us.

From the Kitchen...
Lenten teas, lots of remodeling and kids everywhere:) We choose to do some work in the Kitchen and bathroom these last 2 monhs. I think my husband did a fantastic job, everything he does is fantastic and I really mean it. My husband is a very smart man if he puts his mind to it he can accomplish it and accomplish it well.
My husband put the floor in a few days earlier and now is working on the new counters.
Kitchen sink, fixtures, appliances and much more in the days ahead.

I am creating...
Easter baskets and Easter egg hunt eggs for Sunday and Monday. I have been thinking that maybe we should do Easter baskets and egg hunts on Monday. The Easter season lasts 50 days really you have lots of time to give your children gifts of spring.  I have been feeling that Easter Sunday should be all about our Lord and fellowship and not Easter egg hunts and baskets full of candy and gifts. We have not opened Christmas gifts on Christmas day for a couple years now and I feel this should be no different.

I am working on...
cleaning out my basement, and the rest of my home for Easter, maybe even my van. I have also started working on Julia's first grade lessons since she has finished Kindergarten. We school year round now so we are able to just keep moving forward, wish I thought of this years ago.

I am going...
to pray that my hubby can finish some of the projects he has stated. When early spring and summer hit in our area my husband will put in long hours at work, and when he's home he needs to rest.

I am hoping...
to rest most of the day on Saturday to prepare my heart for Communion and Fellowship on Easter Sunday, which means my Good Friday may be busy.

I am reading...
my Bible alot these days since my heart is full of many questions. I am aslo reading Rome Sweet Home , What Jesus saw from the cross, and listening to a wonderful book called Reforming Marriage. Reforming Marriage is by far one of my favorite books now, I think  every married couple should listen to this or read it.

I am praying...
for my health as I come closer to my 20 week ultrasound, I am always a little scared at this time. I am praying and praising the Lord for my Pastor and his family, what a blessing they have been to us. I continue to pray for our country and for all the unborn babies killed by abortion, I ask the Lord to please keep us safe in his arms, Chrisians in our country are facing hard time right now. I rest knowing that God the creator of the world is always in control, his plans are perfect.

Around the house...
I see lots of kids with smiles on their faces, which makes mommy very happy.
CJ had a dount and was full of chocolate when she was all done. I just had to take a picture of her she was having so much fun. We gave up sweets for Lent but on Sundays we let it slide a little and Auntie was up for a vist so we had a little extra fun.

One of my favorite things...
Mornings out with my hubby:) A big ,big perk when you have grandpa living with you. We can leave when the kids are still sleeping and get away for alone time. We have done this a few times now and we think once a week is a must, even if it is only for a few hours.

Our plans for the rest of the week....
  •  Have our Good Friday Lenten tea
  •  Go to Good Friday Mass
  •  Try to finish up our chores before Easter, we are almost done
  •  Make up my food for Church on Sunday, and start on Monday's meals
  •  Make Easter eggs and sweets for Easter with the girls
  •  Spend the day at Church on Easter Sunday with family and friends.

My Daybook:: January 16, 2012

Outside my window... I see snow on the ground and it is so pretty. I'm sure we will have some little ones that will want to play outside and have hot chocolate today. We have had a very mild winter so we have not needed any snow pants yet this year. I am more of a mild winter girl myself, but the kids love the snow.

I am thinking...about my little one growing in my belly and how much I love him/her already. I'm also thinking about school plans for next year, will we home school or not is the question. I want to have everything planned out early this year if we are since we will have a new little one due in September.

I am thankful... for all the love I have been shown from my church family. I am also thankful that we were able to see our little one by ultra sound. Tuesday we saw a little heartbeat just starting and I almost cried with joy.

I am feeling... very sick all day long. I have never had morning sickness this bad before. I am taking ginger and eating lots of crackers now. I am so tired I cannot even move about very well. My husband is off this week which is wonderful; he'll be doing a lot of the cooking since I can't stand the smell of food right now.

In the kitchen... I am not doing very much since I cannot handle much food. I did not do any cooking this past week. I may make some cookies and chocolate dipped marshmallows today for the kids when they come in from playing outside or I may have to wait.

I am wearing... Grey Yoga pants, a pink fleece sweater with a white t-shirt under it. I also have on cozy little pink socks with my favorite slippers.

I am creating... a school plan for the rest of the year. I 'm also working on a 2012 budget with my hubby. We are adding on to our house this spring so we have to start making some plans for this, we have 3 months to get everything in order.

Scripture I am reading...to be honest I have been so tired and sick I have not read anything in the past week. My hubby and I will be starting our GMG bible study on Ephesians. This is a women’s bible study put I love my husband’s input on life and I trust his words and advice.

I am wondering... why with this pregnancy I'm so sick.  Maybe we have 2 babies, or maybe were having a boy after 7 girls. Praying everything is fine and mommy and baby are both just very healthy and growing.

I am reading... well more like listening to books with Audible.com from Amazon. Here are the books I have been listening to or books I have finished in the last couple months. Intimate Issues: 21 Questions Christian Women Ask About Sex , Courageous: A Novel , Twilight: The Twilight Saga, Book 1 (yes I do love the Twilight books and movies). I bought the new novel Breaking Dawn: The Twilight Saga, Book 4 and I plan on buying the other 2 books from the Twilight saga since we own the movies. The books are always better, but the movies are great:)

I am hoping... My hard working hubby gets the 2 upper bedrooms painted this week. We own a smaller home that needs some work and we are slowly finishing rooms.

I am looking forward to... hearing the baby’s heartbeat again in a couple of weeks, and I would love for my morning sickness to just go away. I am also looking forward to Madelyn’s 3rd birthday today we are having a Cinderella birthday.

Around the house... We have paint and books lying all over. Mom has not been very helpful in the cleaning department so the kids are taking good care of things. My husband is a very clean guy he likes things in order so I know this week my house will sparkle after he's all done. Yesterday I think he pulled out the stove to clean it including under it and behind it.

One of my favorite things... the word of God. One of my very favorite things is Church, I love going to church if I could go everyday of the week to hear the word of God I would go.

A few plans for the rest of the week:

  • Celebrating Madelyn’s 3rd birthday
  • Relaxing since I may not have any other choice
  • Haircuts for the girls and I
  • Monthly Costco trip
  • Going to a "Rally for life" event with our church
  • Bible study on Wed if I am feeling better
  • Grade papers and get ready for next quarter
  • Finish my painting; I have been working on a painting for over 2 months now.
  • Spend time in prayer each day alone.
  • Start my new Bible study on Ephesians
  • Help hubby finish painting the upstairs
Now add in home schooling the children and it looks like another full week of plans.

This picture is from New Year's Day 2012, we had a Tinker Bell dinner.
