A green organic baby....

Okay a green organic baby is what I plan to have. I already eat really well and have been for years. I am an Organic mommy for sure and I feel great because of it. Now that I am pregnant and nursing still I will have to be even more careful. The book I love and have read many times is Green babies Sage moms. I have a list of great books but this one I have used the most. I use Organic coconut oil on my belly it smells great and works fantastic. I make almost all my house cleaners I save a ton and use less. We use cloth dippers and wipes which also saves a lot and it is way better for your babies. There are so many reasons to switch to good food and safe products for your family. Read your labels spend the couple extra dollars on good food that will not kill or hurt you down the road. We have gone down the road of Organic cotton now as well. We already have Organic sheets but will be buying more organic clothes. Green babies has a great website greenbabies check it out. We also buy from the Amish were we live they have Organic farms with great food.

The Lord has Blessed us again....

Yes its true mom we took 4 tests all with a faint lines but two lines. I am still nursing Madelyn so I will have to keep up with the food and fluids. If anyone knows about a great book on nursing and being pregnant I would love to know. I have several posts in the works I just have not been able to post. We took a lot of time off from school during Advent, and Christmas. So it was a little hard getting back into the swing of things.  My husband and I are so excited and feel so blessed that the Lord has called us to be parents again. I pray all goes well and we can bring home a healthy baby in September 2010.

Praying!

I have been really thinking about how I came to be what I am lately. I am from a one parent home and was raised by my father. My father did a wonderful job and the best he could. I missed out on traditions and religion in my home growing up. We never went to church, never prayed before meals; I was never read to as a little girl. I had a good life never went without and some how stayed out of trouble as all my friends found trouble. Most of my friends came from divorced families and all attended public school and none of my friends came from homes full of God. I lived in a really nice city and like I said we all had hard working parents that took great care of us. We/I was just missing the very things I could never live without now.

Here is what happened in my life when all odds were stalked up against me. How could I turn out okay with no religion and divorced parents? I have a wonderful mother but I never had the chance to be close to her during my teen years. A mother is the one to train her daughter how to be a wife and mother. I love my mom so much and don't blame her for anything. She has always been there for me. Love you mom! How could I become a mother without someone to train me? I would have to do this on my own. Little did I know that during my teen years my life would start to change? My father gave himself to Christ and became a Christian when I was about 12 or 13 praise God. Little did I know God was working in my life because of my father he prayed for me and my sisters daily? He knew his mistakes and wanted to change things and better his daughter’s lives. That would explain why I made different choices then my friends. Why all 3 of his daughters married wonderful men and have children and family’s. My older sisters have both been married now about 17 and 16 years. I have been married for 13 years. Oh and we all have Christ in our family’s and walk with him daily. So a Prayerful parent even one can make a huge difference.

My husband is the best husband a wife could ask for many say it but any woman would be proud to be his wife. I have 6 daughters that I home school and now get the chance to give my girls what I missed out on. My home is full of love, and togetherness with both parents. My husband and I both are strong Christians and Strong Catholics we love our new faith that the Lord showed us. My husband grew up Catholic for the most part but I did not. What a blessing to have the Catholic Church in our life it has helped us grow closer to God in ways I never thought I could. We as a couple have decided to beat the odds and celebrate many Anniversaries as husband and wife.
We homeschool our children and guess what I now have been given the chance to change my family tree and I now get the chance to show my daughters all the things they will need to know to better themselves as women, mothers and wives. God is so good and I love him so much for all he has done in my life. Yes there are hard times being a Christian it is not all perfect. Trying to live without him would be worse and very foolish. We have the whole world up against us is seems ladies I know some days we just want to give up. But hold on Ladies hold on to your family’s tight and pray. Pray everyday for your family and your children no matter what it looks like prayer works.

Trying to get 6 girls to face foward and smile was a good time. Then we added our Dog and that made it even more intresting.

Katelin takes her role as a big sister very Seriously. She will make such a good mommy someday.
I love the fleece blankets there so warm and cozy.

The Girls got there new Christmas Pajama's
on Christmas Eve.

Daddy always reads the night before Christmas to the girls on Christmas Eve.

Here baby Madyln has decided to read a book while daddy is reading.

Okay it's upside down and she only flipped the book around.
It's so sweet to see children take a intrest in books and reading.
Even if they only flip it around and look at it upside down.
                                                          You have to start somewhere.

Madelyn is opening her gift from Katelin. She has slept with her new blanket everyday since Christmas.

Signing Time Christmas is what Hannah had Books, movies and flashcards.
Hannah has been learning ASL with Signing Times for over 1yr now.
Now the whole family has learned ASL

The Traditional day of Epiphany

I will be posting our Epiphany pictures tommorrow we had such a fun day.  I hope you are all having a blessed and wonderful Epiphany.  I wanted to leave you with something I picked up after Mass.

Prayer for the Journey

Blessed are you, O Lord our God,
who has made your glory shine
through the birth of your Son,
our Savior,Jesus Christ.

Your angels brought shepherds from their flocks.
Your star brought wise men from the East.
The Whole world is suddenly hushed
at the wonder of this child
who has come to redeem us from our sin
and bring us back to you.

Open your eyes to see your shining radiance in the face of a child.
And give us strength to make our journey,
step by step to your glory.
We ask this through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

This was from Liturgy Training Publications. Written by Mary Deeley I think.

HAVE A BLESSED EPIPHANY!

How much sleep does a mother need

I am not sure how much sleep a mother needs I think 6-9 hrs a day. What about a mother who is nursing a 1yr old, chasing 5 other children, keeping up with the house, and homeschooling. I don't think there is enough time in the day to get all the rest I would like to have. I go to bed between 9pm and 11pm because my hubby is up anywhere between 1am and 4am each day for work. My little one will wake up in the middle of the night to nurse and then nurse all night long in our bed. Then my girls will wake up it seems to be earlier and earlier each day. Today it was 5:45am all 6 of them up at the same time. That was early and today the coffee is not even working but I will just smile at least try. You know there watching everything I do.

Today God has given me the Grace to carry on as he does each and everyday. Remember God will give you no more then he knows you can handle. So we sometimes say we can't handle all the things given to us. Remember when you prayed for all those gifts and your heavenly father gave them to you. He gave them to you because he loves you they were gifts from him he answered your prayers.

He is not going to give you anything he does not think you can handle. So take a deep breath and remember as you sit and sip your coffee holding your head in the early mornings, watching your kids run in circles with all that energy God loves you. Maybe we should pray for more energy to go along with all the gifts we ask from our father in Heaven.

What I find helps and what I tell myself on days where I am just too tired for words is this. This is a season a season that ends way to fast for many of us. When this time is over many of us wish to have the very season you hated back because it makes you sad that your kids now don't need you as much. Hold them tight and smile that today you had the early wake up call from your gifts sent from heaven. Smile and sip your coffee and just watch them run in circles you will be glad you did. Memories are what you are making, so make them good memories for yourself and your kids.

Epiphany of the Lord

Today we celebrated the Epiphany of the Lord at Mass.  I was not sure why and maybe some of you aren’t sure either. This is what I found in our church bulletin today.

The celebration of the Epiphany was established by St. Gregory Nazianzen in the 4th century and commemorated the visit of the Magi. Epiphany is the climax of the Advent/Christmas Season and was originally marked by the 12 days of Christmas, which are usually counted from the evening of December 25th until the morning of January 6th.

The feast has been celebrated on different dates in different cultures. In the Western Church the feast was traditionally celebrated on January 6th no matter the day of the week.

Today it is celebrated on the Sunday following the Solemnity of Mary, which we celebrated last Friday.

We will celebrate Epiphany on January 6th in our home with lots of activities and snacks. I did find this interesting and thought I would share it with you.

New Years Day and Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God

We had such a great day today as a family together. We had a nice family breakfast and started the New Year going to church. I was able to go and receive the Eucharist and thank Mary for all she did. I was hoping to see more faces at Mass today but that’s okay. The people at our Parish are just so nice to us. We were told by 4 different people how beautiful our family was. They loved the way they were dressed and so on that just made my day. We also as a family got to bring up the bread and wine during Mass it was just perfect. You see one of my New Years resolutions was to be able to spend more time with God. In church and in prayer all the way around much more time then this past year. So starting the day off the way we did was just what I needed and wanted. We had a great day and spent lots of time as a family. To end the day we went to Church tonight were we prayed for World peace and for the safe return of all our Armed Forces. Oh and the baby slept through the whole thing what an awesome gift from heaven a sleeping baby during Adoration. I hope all of you had a wonderful New Year and many happy memories. Many blessing this New Year
